With makeup there are so many different things you can do to give off different vibes. When you give an actor a makeup look that may look basic and regular it would look as à regular everyday makeup look. In the movie we did (pennywise). The makeup was a scary unsettling look that give the vide of scary. Aka a clown.

Also with the fascial expressions. With the makeup the clown gives an uneasy feel to the viewers that would make the feel almost bad for the other actors.
