Preliminary Exercise 4: Analyzing Setting for National Lampoons European Vacation

This blog post is about noticing things in a setting. This helped me become more fluent with areas around me and also in movies or sets. In this specific post I analyzed time of day, characteristics of location, and the culture/moral values.
Analyzing the time of day is an important aspect of noticing a setting. In a setting it can be dark, light or dim. This all depends on what time of day it is. Once you know what time of day it is, other characteristics of the setting may start to make sense.
Next is physical characteristics and moral values. The physical characteristics consist of the things such as the road, building, etc. This is important because it gets you familiar with the places around you. Moving on we have the moral values. This is the value of one’s damage or work. For example, in the post the theme was a man hitting someone else in a car. In his case damage was done. Therefore, his moral values would be how much he pays to get the damage fixed.
